Job summary

Tesco PLC in Greater London is hiring a Shift Lead to support store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and lead a small team across busy shop floors. You’ll schedule and coordinate shifts within available windows, motivate colleagues, and resolve daily issues to keep the store running smoothly.

The role offers flexible hours and opportunities to grow. Applicants must be 18+, be a natural leader, and bring experience in fast-paced retail.

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong customer-facing skills and service mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.
• Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.
• Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
• Confidently leading the store in the Manager's absence.
• Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change.
• Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service.
• Staying curious and seeking opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.
• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer's needs are met.
• Build positive, long-lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
• A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
