Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy store. You will deter crime, monitor CCTV, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent service and maintaining a safe shopping environment.

Ideal candidates hold a valid SIA licence (DS or guarding) and rights to work in the UK, with flexibility to work shifts from Thursday to Monday and including evenings and weekends. DBS/BS7858 clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and be able to obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance.
• Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) with relevant security experience.
• Excellent observational skills and ability to report clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence, deterring theft and anti-social behaviour
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating where required
• Conduct searches in line with company procedures when necessary
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports
• Work closely with store management and staff on security matters
• Provide a professional and approachable presence
• Assist customers and staff with queries
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly
• Follow all site procedures, company policies and legal requirements
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as required
