Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy retail environment. You will deter criminal activity, deliver excellent customer service and respond to incidents across opening hours.

The role requires a valid SIA licence (DS or Security Guarding), right to work in the UK, and flexibility to cover shifts including weekends and evenings. You will work with store management to maintain safety and security standards.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo DBS and BS7858 clearance.
• Valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) with relevant security experience.
• Strong observational skills to identify suspicious behaviour.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reporting and interactions.
• Proactive and professional approach to ensuring safety and security.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and antisocial behaviour.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents and escalate as required.
• Conduct searches in line with company procedures when necessary.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Collaborate with store management and staff on security matters.
• Provide a professional, approachable presence and assist customers and staff.
