Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy retail environment. You will deter theft, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents and provide excellent customer service while upholding store procedures.

Key requirements include a valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding), Right to Work in the UK and ability to obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance. Flexible shifts including weekends and evenings are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding).
• Right to Work in the UK and ability to obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance.
• Excellent observational and reporting skills.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence and deter theft.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents and escalate when required.
• Conduct searches in line with procedures when necessary.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Work with store management on security matters.
• Provide a professional and approachable presence to customers and staff.
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly.
• Follow site procedures, policies and legal requirements.
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as required.
