Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is recruiting a Retail Security Officer for M&S in Birmingham. You’ll be the visible presence in stores, delivering professional security and customer service while protecting staff and products.

The role covers shifts around Birmingham areas including Bullring, Moseley, Harborne, and Solihull. The ideal candidate has security experience, a client-focused attitude, and a valid SIA licence where possible.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• A valid SIA licence is desirable (although not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, confident and professional approach.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
• A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.
• Protect the store, people and products by preventing loss and responding to incidents.
• Use store technology and body-worn cameras to support operations.
• Stay calm under pressure and act professionally in challenging situations.
• Work with store colleagues to maintain high standards and customer service.
