M&S is hiring a Retail Security Officer at Washington Galleries. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues while protecting people and products. This role requires calm under pressure, professional conduct, and a proactive, customer‑facing mindset.

You’ll be a visible store presence, using tech like mobile reporting and body-worn cameras to support operations. Previous security experience is preferred, and a valid SIA licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a fast-paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to step in when needed
• Create a welcoming store environment, greeting customers and delivering professional support to customers and colleagues
• Help keep stores safe and secure, prevent loss, respond to incidents, identify risks and support safe working practices
• Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, to support operations and incident management
• Stay calm under pressure and act professionally and confidently
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards and support operations
• Adapt quickly to changing situations to support the store as needed
