Resus Junior Sister/Charge Nurse/ Paramedic
The closing date is 07 October 2025
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced emergency nurse to apply for a band 6 post within the resuscitation area of the Emergency department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
The resuscitation area has 5 beds and is for the mostly acutely unwell patients in the department. The department receives patients from many specialities including acute medicine, respiratory, stroke, elderly care, surgery, obstetrics and gynae, trauma and orthopaedics, and neurosurgery.
We are one of 12 adult-only Major Trauma Centres in England and therefore see a wide range of advanced trauma patients requiring specialist care.
The post seeks a dynamic and energetic individual able to work as part of a team. The postholder will be offered education, mandatory training and staff development within a positive learning environment. The department has links to Bright and Sussex University enabling access to further education.
You will be part of a team of Resus Junior Sister/Charge Nurses and will be required to rotate shifts including days, nights and weekends.
Due to departmental acuity or staffing levels the post holder may sometimes be required to work in other areas of the Emergency Department. This would be at the decision of the shift leader.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
