Job summary

Compass Community in Worthing is seeking a Residential Support Worker to help transform the lives of children in our care. This role welcomes experienced Residential or Youth Workers, as well as those new to the field who want to build a career in residential care.

You will support children’s activities, health and wellbeing, and assist the team with daily tasks. You will progress to Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months, enabling ongoing development and career progression

Qualifications

• Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
• Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
• Has a valid manual driving licence.
• Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting health and wellbeing and safeguarding at all times.
• Meet a variety of children and young people, some requiring high levels of supervision and support.
• Support the wider team with domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking and food shopping.
• Create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
