Job summary

Compass Community is hiring Residential Support Workers to help children in our homes. You will support daily activities, safeguarding, and emotional development in a caring, non-judgemental environment.

No prior experience is required, with Skills to Care induction and two weeks of classroom-based training plus shadow shifts. Progression includes earning a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months and ongoing development with Compass.

Qualifications

• Age 22 or above to meet Ofsted regulations.
• Caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships.
• Valid manual driving licence.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate children’s activities and appointments, support health and wellbeing, safeguarding at all times.
• Meet a variety of children and young people, some with high supervision needs.
• Support the wider team with domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking and food shopping.
• Create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
