Job summary

Compass Homes is seeking a Residential Support Worker to help children experience childhood, build self-esteem and progress toward adulthood, in a non-judgemental, supportive environment.

No prior experience required; we provide Skills to Care induction, two weeks classroom-based training, one week shadow shifts, and support to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
• Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
• Has a valid manual driving licence.
• Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Previous experience is not essential for this role.
• Our Skills to Care induction includes 2 separate weeks of classroom-based training and a week of shadow shifts to prepare for the new role.

Responsibilities

• You will help facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives. You will ensure their health and wellbeing, safeguarding them at all times.
• You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
• You will support the wider team with a range of domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
• You will create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
