Job summary

Job description

To provide consistent care, guidance, and support to children and young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD) in a safe, nurturing residential environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care and behaviour management plans.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage growth, independence, and resilience.
  • Support with daily routines including personal care, education, recreational activities, and life skills.
  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with Ofsted and organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to team meetings, care planning, and multi-agency working.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and homely environment.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children/young people with EBD and/or LD (desirable).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour management.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (where applicable).
  • Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held).
