Your new role
The job is focused on supporting tenants and leaseholders during major works on their homes. The role involves providing comprehensive information, advice, and assistance to ensure residents are well-informed and supported throughout the process. The post holder will set standards for contractors and consultants in their interactions with residents, ensuring effective communication and consultation. A key part of the role is developing and managing consultation plans for each project, including agreeing to and distributing information packs and updates through various media outlets. The post holder will coordinate the temporary or permanent re-housing of residents when necessary and advise Project Managers on the potential impact of capital works on residents. The role also includes assisting leaseholders with their financial obligations related to major works, resolving access issues and disputes with residents, and ensuring efficient processing of insurance and other claims. Legal actions against tenants or leaseholders may be managed if required. Participation in capital projects as a team member is essential, and the post holder will advise Project Managers on any issues that may affect the project. They will arrange and attend meetings, presentations, and exhibitions for residents, which may require working outside normal hours. The post holder will design and conduct social surveys before major projects commence and establish a feedback and complaints procedure for each project. Identifying and supporting vulnerable residents is crucial, ensuring adequate provisions are made for their needs. Additionally, they will maintain systems for reporting defects during and after the works and conduct resident satisfaction surveys to analyse the results. Regular reviews of consultation and communication procedures are necessary to suggest improvements. The post holder will also assist in implementing the Best Value Action Plan for the HRA Capital Programme and perform any other relevant duties required for the delivery of the capital investment programme.
