Job summary
As an established Clinical Coder, you will play a key role in supporting the department in the accurate and timely coding of clinical activity. This includes managing a specialty portfolio and carrying out coding functions in line with local and national standards, rules, and conventions. Please note that this is a fully remote working role, with an additional 10% of salary paid for possession of the National Clinical Coding Qualification, plus the 20% inner London HCAS. Previous applicants need not reapply until 6 months after their last interview.
The Clinical Coding Liaison Officer will be responsible for coding a range of specialties to a complex level, guided by their Specialist Coder and Team Manager. This involves planning and configuring work efficiently to ensure accurate and timely outcomes, both independently and as part of a team.
Engagement with clinical divisions is crucial to ensure alignment between clinicians and coders, improve understanding of coding requirements, and highlight the vital role of clinical teams in the process. The role includes fostering strong working relationships with clinical leads, attending clinical forums as needed, and acting as an interface between clinical teams and the coding service.
