As an established Clinical Coder, you will support the department in accurate and timely coding of clinical activity. This includes managing a specialty portfolio and coding in line with standards, rules, and conventions. The coding team has a strong track record for high-quality coding within an inclusive, collaborative infrastructure. This role is fully remote, with an additional 10% salary supplement for possession of the National Clinical Coding Qualification, plus a 20% inner London HCAS. Previous applicants need not reapply until 6 months after their last interview.
The Clinical Coding Liaison Officer will code a range of specialties to a complex level, guided by their specialist coder and team manager. Responsibilities include planning and configuring work for efficiency and accuracy, both independently and as part of a team.
Engaging with clinical divisions is vital to ensure alignment between clinicians and coders, enhancing understanding of coding requirements and their importance. The role involves building good relationships with clinical leads, attending forums, and acting as an interface between clinical teams and the coding service.
