Job summary

Stonehaven Care Group in Bodmin is seeking a Care Assistant to join our home for a 36-hour week. The role involves promoting person-centred care, supporting residents with daily activities, and assisting with meals, personal care, and mobility.

You should have a compassionate, patient approach and good communication skills to work with residents and staff. Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues and residents.
• Compassionate and patient nature with an interest in improving the lives of older or vulnerable people.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and carry out manual handling and cleaning tasks.
• A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs.
• Previous care home, hospital or kitchen environment experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a person-centred care approach for all residents.
• Support service users according to their care plans and risk assessments.
• Assist with dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility needs.
• Support meals service, dining room tasks and meal preparation.
• Read and write reports; participate in care team meetings and training.
• Help create team spirit and minimise wastage.
