Job summary

Stonehaven Care Group in Brixham is seeking a Night Care Assistant to work 36 hours per week in our warm, people‑centered home. You will support residents with daily living tasks, dressing, bathing, mobility and meal support in a compassionate, respectful environment.

The role requires empathy, reliability and a genuine interest in improving quality of life for older adults. A positive team spirit and ability to follow care plans are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home, hospital or similar setting is desirable.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills under pressure and deadlines.
• Good communication with colleagues and residents in a professional manner.
• Compassionate and patient nature with a genuine interest in older or vulnerable people.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Promote a person-centred care approach for all service users and follow care plans.
• Maintain service user needs as set out in their care plan and update as required.
• Assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting and mobility needs.
• Support residents with meals, feeding and dining room duties.
• Read and write reports, attend care team and residents' meetings and training.
• Promote residents' mental and physical activity through conversations and activities.
• Keep rooms clean, make beds, and inspect and launder residents' clothing.
• Respond to emergencies (bells, door, telephone) and greet visitors.
