Job summary

Stonehaven Healthcare Ltd in Exeter is seeking a Care Assistant to work 36 hours per week in Dove Tree House. You will support residents with daily living tasks, promote person-centered care and contribute to a friendly, home-like environment.

Experience in care settings is desirable but not essential; strong communication, compassion and the ability to work as part of a team are valued. The role requires physical stamina and a flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care home, hospital, or similar setting is desirable but not essential
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Good communication skills with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues and residents
• Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine interest in improving the lives of older or vulnerable people
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and carry out manual handling and cleaning tasks
• A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a person-centred care approach
• Support service users according to their care plans
• Update care plans and risk assessments as required
• Follow company policies, procedures and safe practices
• Assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting and mobility
• Help with meals, feeding, and dining room duties
• Read and write reports and participate in team meetings
• Participate in training activities
• Contribute to team spirit and reduce wastage
