Responsibilities

Role: Resident Doctor Obs & Gynae

Town / Site: London, The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, part of HCA Healthcare UK.

Part time: 24 Hrs Per Week; x2 12 Hr Shifts

Permanent: There are opportunities for additional shifts, by joining our Bank (internal locums)

Salary: Highly Competitive.

The Portland’s Hospital HCA Healthcare, are actively looking for a talented Resident Doctor to join our prestigious Obs & Gynae team. The inpatient unit is a 24/7, 365 day-a-year service. The inpatient beds include Gynaecology, Perinatal and Labour ward. The outpatient unit is open Monday to Saturday with a Midwife Led Service staffed by midwives.

While we are a Consultant Led Service, we believe in empowering our Resident Doctors, so your role could become expand as much as you wish. You’ll have the chance to be involved in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives alongside the opportunity to join a variety of internal networks. This could be to help steer the services you deliver, speaking up or patient satisfaction focus groups, clinical governance or MDT meetings. Giving you an opportunity to network with your peers, share best practice and expand your knowledge in an unrivalled setting.

What You’ll Bring:
  • MRCO&G
  • Higher Degrees including MSc, PhD, MD etc
  • GMC registration and completion of Foundation training.
  • Minimum of 5 years specialty experience within Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • ALS (or equivalent) current certificates
  • Competent within the following procedures: Cannulation and phlebotomy, urinary catheterization and bladder U/S, Obstetric U/S to determine lie and placenta position, emergency procedures (including emergency surgery and delivery).
