An exciting opportunity has arisen for a research nurse to join our team at Clifton Medical Centre, Rotherham.

Applications are invited from nurses with research experience, however, applications from candidates with no experience will be considered.

You will need to possess excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, experience of caring for patients within the specialty of clinical research would be preferred but training can be provided for suitable candidates.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Practice

Assess,plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programmes that promote healthand well-being.

Reviewmedication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accord with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols.

Workwith patients in order to support adherence on prescribed treatments.

GCP Training

Workingon commercial and non-commercial studies and Pharmaceutical companies adheringto their research protocols and ensuring the studies are delivered effectively.

AttendInvestigator meetings and Site Initiation meetings as appropriate.

Workingclosely with the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network.

Clinical Practice

Assess,plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programmes that promote healthand well-being.

Reviewmedication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and inaccordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols.

Workwith patients in order to support adherence on prescribed treatments.

Provideinformation and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication onmedication regimens, side-effects and interactions.

Prioritisehealth problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex,urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergencycare.

Supportpatients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote patients to livehealthily, and apply principles of self-care.

Recognise,assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs in accordancewith NSF for Mental Health.

  • Demonstratesensitive communication styles to ensure patients are fully informed andconsent to treatment.
