Overview

In the context of the University's Strategy 2030 and Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan 2030, LJMU currently has 3 Pan-University Research Institutes (PURI): the Forensic Research Institute (FORRI), Institute of Health Research (IHR) and Liverpool Research Institute for Climate and Sustainability (LiRICS). The post is designed to develop a joint PURI research culture strategy with measurable KPIs, an RCO post cost recovery plan, and a biennial research culture evaluation report. The RCO will be based in Research and Innovation Services and liaise with all PURI Directors.

Responsibilities
  • Improve access to and participation in PURI research, whilst encouraging collaboration and open research practices, through the organisation of PURI leadership skills events across all career stages.
  • Create routes for knowledge exchange with industry, NGOs, SMEs and local government through stakeholder events and deliver new approaches to public dialogue and community-led research through open access events.
  • Support research integrity by administering an Early Career Researcher Forum and raise the international profile of the PURIs by helping members host national/international conferences at LJMU.
  • Organise PURI leadership skills events, stakeholder events and public access events to promote collaboration and openness in research.
  • Develop and implement the PURI research culture strategy with measurable KPIs, and contribute to the biennial research culture evaluation report.
  • Develop an RCO post cost recovery plan and liaise with PURI Directors as required.
