Job summary

AOB Recruitment is seeking a Training and Development Coach/Assessor for Financial Services in the West Midlands. The role involves managing a caseload of apprentices across mortgage and financial services tracks, delivering quality teaching, and guiding learners to gateway and end-point assessment.

Home-based with field travel, 37.5 hours per week, salary £32,000–£38,000, and a permanent role. The post supports learning, development, and business partnerships across employers.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (A*-C) or equivalent Level 2
• Teaching qualification Level 3 or higher
• Assessor (CAVA) and/or IQA awards
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
• Qualifications in the apprenticeship subject being delivered

Responsibilities

• Onboard apprentices, completing mandatory paperwork and internal quality documents
• Implement the delivery plan with a high standard of teaching and support
• Guide and support apprentices for timely, high-quality work assessment
• Provide developmental feedback to apprentices on improvements
• Ensure learning sessions develop English and maths and understand British values
• Be main contact for employer and apprentice; maintain partnerships
• Support apprentices for end-point assessment criteria
• Keep employers and apprentices informed about programme and delivery
• Monitor progress and identify skills gaps; facilitate development
• Conduct regular reviews with apprentices and line managers, in person or remotely
• Create SMART targets and quarterly reviews; track learner commitments
• Liaise with managers to apply knowledge in workplace; record progress
