Job Title: Remote Property Management Assistant (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $1,300 - 1,600 USD/month paid via Wise

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Central Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Property Manager Assistant to oversee the daily operations of our residential rental properties. The ideal candidate will have proven experience using tools like Buildium, be proficient in Google Sheets, and demonstrate deep knowledge of Section 8 and other housing subsidy programs. Familiarity with Minnesota state laws regarding violations and evictions is preferable.

You will be responsible for marketing vacancies, leasing units, collecting rent (including delinquent accounts), and maintaining positive but firm relationships with tenants. We are looking for someone who is both empathetic and assertive, with a strong track record in leasing and collections.

Responsibilities
  • Manage rental listings: post vacancies across multiple platforms and update listings in Buildium.
  • Screen and lease units to qualified applicants, including those using subsidies such as Section 8.
  • Collect rent and proactively manage delinquent accounts.
  • Handle tenant communications with professionalism and empathy.
  • Enforce lease terms and Minnesota housing laws regarding violations and evictions.
  • Coordinate with Section 8 and other housing authority caseworkers.
  • Maintain detailed property, tenant, and financial records using Buildium and Google Sheets.
  • Prepare and send notices (e.g., late rent, lease violations, eviction notices).
  • Ensure compliance with fair housing and state/local regulations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies
  • 2+ years of property management experience, preferably remote.
  • Proficient in Buildium property management software.
  • Advanced Google Sheets skills for tracking rent rolls, vacancies, and KPIs.
  • Deep understanding of Section 8 and other subsidy programs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to balance empathy and assertiveness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing multifamily or low-income housing units.
  • Solid knowledge of Minnesota tenant/landlord laws, especially regarding evictions and notices.
  • Demonstrated success in rent collection and reducing delinquency rates.
  • Familiarity with housing authority portals and inspection scheduling.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
