Job summary

IT Talent Solutions Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our expanding IT team. The role focuses on troubleshooting networking, security, and connectivity, with remote support and occasional on-site client visits to install and configure infrastructure.

You will work with routers, switches, firewalls, and servers, maintain documentation, and stay updated on industry best practices to protect client networks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall management.
• Strong LAN/WAN/VLAN/VPN troubleshooting and wireless infrastructure support.
• Experience with server maintenance, patching, and backups.
• Excellent communication and customer service when interacting with clients and team members.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality remote technical support to clients, resolving networking, connectivity, and security issues efficiently.
• Acting as an escalation point for first-line support, troubleshooting more complex problems.
• Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Performing server maintenance tasks such as patching, updates, and backups to ensure system integrity.
• Implementing and supporting security measures to safeguard client networks and data.
• Participating in project work, including network upgrades, migrations, and new infrastructure deployments.
• Conducting occasional onsite visits to client locations for hardware installation, troubleshooting, and support.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of support activities, network configurations, and system changes.
