Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement and support secure, resilient network infrastructure across London and the South East. This remote-based role involves occasional office visits near Camberley (Hampshire) and travel to client sites in London as required.

You will work on LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi and security infrastructure, monitor performance, configure routers and switches, and contribute to infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or IT Degree.
  • Proven experience working as a Network Engineer or in a similar infrastructure role.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and network management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams and configuration records.
  • Manage and resolve incidents, problems and service requests in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Evaluate new technologies and contribute to the ongoing development of customer network engineering requirements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Network Engineer to join our client's growing team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting secure, resilient and high-performing network infrastructure to support customer projects across London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable Network Engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and working across a range of networking technologies.

This position will primarily be remote based, with visits to the office near Camberley (Hampshire) and travel to customer sites in London as/when required
