Job summary

NAES United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical expertise across seven locations. The role is remote, home-based with extensive UK travel, reporting to the Fleet Engineer and coordinating with station personnel, contractors and OEMs to maintain peak plant availability.

The position requires an HND or higher in Electrical Engineering, experience in power generation, and a strong grasp of electrical safety and CMMS maintenance planning.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering is required; a relevant degree is preferred.
• Experience in power generation or heavy industry is required; gas turbine facilities are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, generators and transformers is essential.
• Experience with fault diagnosis, testing, root cause analysis and reliability improvement is expected.
• Ability to manage electrical projects, outages, scheduling, budgeting and QA.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV and LV electrical support while ensuring safety and compliance.
• Investigate faults and recurring failures to identify root causes and improvement actions.
• Perform HV/LV switching, isolation, inspection and testing with proper authorization.
• Coordinate outages with station teams, contractors and OEMs to minimise downtime.
• Develop fleet-wide preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies using CMMS.
• Evaluate modifications and designs for technical reviews and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee projects and contractors through installation, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers, documentation and critical spares.
• Collaborate with Operations to plan work, budgets and resource needs.
• Support electrical, control and instrumentation activities and uphold safety culture.
