Job summary

Whitetower Energy Ltd is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical expertise, improving reliability and supporting outages across seven UK sites. The role requires extensive travel and coordination with station personnel, contractors and OEMs.

The position is remote/home-based, with a central base in Birmingham and a requirement to travel extensively to Heartlands, Derby and Peterborough, plus other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• Relevant electrical engineering experience in power generation or heavy industry is required.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, generators and transformers is essential.
• Experience in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, testing and reliability improvement is expected.
• Ability to manage electrical projects, outages, and contractors, including scheduling and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV and LV electrical support ensuring compliance with UK standards.
• Investigate faults and protection issues to improve plant reliability.
• Coordinate switching, isolation, inspection and testing activities with teams and contractors.
• Manage outages and modify maintenance strategies across the fleet.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers and essential documentation.
• Plan electrical work with stakeholders and manage budgets and resources.
• Support safety culture and quality assurance across the fleet.
