Job summary

NAES United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical expertise, drive reliability, and support outages and maintenance across seven locations. The role requires extensive UK travel and a remote home-based setup with some on-site work as needed.

The starting salary ranges from £65,000 to £70,000 per year, with eligibility for a performance bonus. The role offers private healthcare, a company pension, annual leave, sick pay, and flexible working

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering; degree preferred.
• Experience in power generation or heavy industry, preferably gas turbine facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, generators, transformers and protection equipment.
• Experience in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, testing and reliability improvement.
• Proven ability to manage electrical projects, outages, scheduling, budgeting and QA.
• Understanding of UK electrical safety requirements and ability to obtain site authorisations.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and OEM documentation.
• Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance planning; proficient in MS Office.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV and LV electrical engineering support, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and safety standards.
• Investigate electrical equipment faults, protection issues and recurring failures; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Perform HV/LV switching, isolation, inspection and testing with proper authorisation and guidance to station personnel.
• Coordinate electrical activities during outages; work with station teams, contractors and OEMs to minimise downtime.
• Develop consistent preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance strategies across the fleet using CMMS.
• Evaluate modifications, upgrades and designs; conduct technical reviews and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage electrical engineering projects, contractors, installation, testing, commissioning and QA.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers and critical spares to support availability.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and stakeholders to plan work and budgets.
• Support short- and long-term fleet engineering strategies to improve performance and lifecycle costs.
• Assist electrical, control and instrumentation activities with a focus on safety culture.
