Job summary

NAES United Kingdom seeks an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical expertise across seven UK power stations. This remote, home-based role involves extensive UK travel, reporting to the Fleet Engineer and coordinating with station personnel, contractors and OEMs to sustain asset availability and safety.

The role requires experience in electrical fault diagnosis, outage planning and maintenance strategy development, with strong knowledge of UK safety standards and CMMS

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering required; a degree preferred.
• Experience in power generation, heavy industry or complex industrial environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers and protection equipment.
• Experience diagnosing faults, root cause analysis and reliability improvement.
• Ability to manage outages, projects, budgets and QA with contractors.
• Familiarity with UK electrical safety requirements and isolation procedures.
• Experience interpreting drawings, specifications and OEM documentation.
• CMMS familiarity and basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV and LV electrical support ensuring compliance with UK standards.
• Investigate faults and recurring failures; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Perform HV/LV switching, isolation, inspection and testing with authorised personnel.
• Coordinate electrical engineering activities during outages to minimise downtime.
• Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies for the fleet.
• Evaluate modifications, upgrades and designs with proper review and compliance.
• Manage technical assessments, contractors and commissioning activities.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers and critical spares requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and external stakeholders on budgets and resources.
• Support electrical, control and instrumentation activities; promote safety culture.
