Job summary

NAES United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide technical expertise for its UK power generation assets. The role covers HV/LV electrical support, fault investigation and maintenance planning across seven locations, with base in Sheffield and extensive UK travel.

The position is remote/home-based, with on-site requirements during outages and site work. A full HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering is required, with degree preferred, and a strong background

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required; degree preferred.
• Experience in power generation or heavy industry is essential.
• Knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, generators and transformers.
• Experience with fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and reliability improvement.
• Experience managing electrical projects, outages and contractors.
• Understanding UK electrical safety requirements and isolation procedures.
• Ability to interpret drawings and OEM documentation; CMMS familiarity desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical support and ensure safety and compliance.
• Investigate faults, root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate outages and maintenance with stations, contractors and OEMs.
• Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies for the fleet.
• Manage electrical projects including scheduling, budgeting and QA.
• Maintain electrical asset registers and critical spares; prepare documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
