Job summary

NAES United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical engineering support across seven power stations. You will investigate faults, plan outages and implement maintenance strategies to improve reliability and availability.

The role is a remote/home-based position with extensive UK travel, based from Leicester for central support, with on-site work as required. Salary £65k-£70k + bonus; private healthcare and pension included.

Qualifications

• Requires HND or degree in Electrical Engineering; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience in power generation or large industrial settings is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK electrical safety, isolation and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV and LV electrical engineering support, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and safety practices.
• Investigate electrical faults and protection issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate HV/LV switching, isolation, inspection and testing with authorised personnel and station teams.
• Manage outages with contractors to minimise downtime and restore generation.
• Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies across the fleet via CMMS.
• Evaluate modifications and designs, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
• Oversee electrical engineering projects, budgets and supplier performance.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers and critical spares.
• Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to plan electrical work and budgets.
