Job summary

NAES United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide electrical expertise for our seven-location power generation portfolio in the UK. The role involves HV/LV support, fault investigation and outage planning to maintain plant availability and drive improvements.

The position is remote/home-based with extensive UK travel, based near Leeds for strategic access, and offers a competitive salary with bonus potential and benefits.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering; degree preferred.
• Experience in power generation or heavy industry; gas turbine facilities preferred.
• Strong HV/LV electrical systems knowledge with protection equipment.
• Experience in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and reliability improvement.
• Experience managing electrical projects, outages, scheduling and QA.
• Understanding UK electrical safety requirements and authorisations.
• Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance planning; proficient with MS Office.
• Excellent communication, organisation and ability to work independently.
• Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical engineering support across assets.
• Investigate faults and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Perform HV/LV switching, isolation, inspection and testing as trained.
• Coordinate outages with plant teams, contractors and OEMs to minimise downtime.
• Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies for the fleet.
• Evaluate modifications ensuring regulatory compliance and reviews.
• Manage electrical projects, scheduling, budgeting and QA with contractors.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers and documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and stakeholders on planning and resourcing.
• Support electrical, control and instrumentation activities with safety focus.
