Job summary

NAES United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Support Engineer to provide fleet-wide electrical expertise for our power generation assets across the UK.

The role is remote/home-based with extensive UK travel, central base in the West Midlands for supporting multiple sites. You will lead HV/LV electrical support, fault investigation and maintenance strategies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering; degree preferred.
• HV and LV electrical systems knowledge essential; switchgear, transformers, protection equipment knowledge.
• Experience with electrical fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement.
• Experience managing electrical projects, outages, and contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide fleet-wide HV/LV electrical support ensuring compliance with UK regulations and safe practices.
• Investigate faults and outages; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate HV/LV switching, isolation, testing with trained personnel.
• Manage outages and coordinate with contractors to minimise downtime.
• Develop fleet-wide preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies using CMMS.
• Evaluate modifications and ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
• Oversee electrical engineering projects, budgeting and quality assurance.
• Maintain fleet electrical asset registers and critical spares.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and external stakeholders on budgets and resources.
• Contribute to long-term fleet electrical strategies to improve performance and lifecycle costs.
• Support electrical, control and instrumentation activities with a focus on safety.
