Job summary

Impact Futures is seeking a creative Digital Content Designer to transform learning content into engaging digital formats. You will design, develop and maintain high‑quality resources across our training curriculum, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity while embracing AI and emerging learning technologies.

The role collaborates with Learning Architects and subject matter experts to optimise learner outcomes.

Qualifications

Level 4+ in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience.
Qualification in Learning Design, Instructional Design, Digital Learning or Education, or equivalent experience.
Experience within apprenticeships, FE or work‑based learning.
Knowledge of Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue.
Assessor or Internal QA qualification or willingness to pursue.
Experience creating engaging teaching, learning and assessment materials.
Experience using digital authoring tools and learning technologies.
Strong understanding of instructional design, learning theories and pedagogy.
Experience developing content for online, blended and face‑to‑face learning.
Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
Excellent written communication and content creation skills.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
High levels of digital literacy and openness to new tech.
Knowledge of AI tools for learning development.
Attention to detail and quality.
Ability to use feedback and data to improve.
Commitment to safeguarding and learner-centred practice.
Experience using Aptem or similar LMS.
Experience creating multimedia or interactive learning resources.
Experience using AI-enabled content creation tools.
Knowledge of learning analytics and learner engagement data.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain engaging digital learning content across our curriculum areas.
Transform existing materials into interactive, learner‑centred experiences.
Create teaching, learning and assessment resources for different styles and needs.
Develop multimedia resources including videos, activities and guides.
Ensure content is accessible, inclusive and aligned with ED&I requirements.
Review feedback, data and QA outcomes to improve content.
Support curriculum and product development and new programme launches.
Create and maintain content structures within Aptem and related tech.
Collaborate with SMEs and QA teams to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Identify opportunities to improve learner and colleague experiences via digital systems.
Deliver training, workshops and support sessions on new content and systems.
Act as SME in digital content design and educational technology.
Provide guidance for colleagues to use new content and solutions.
Stay updated on AI, edtech, pedagogy and learning design.
Explore AI-enabled solutions to improve creation, personalisation and efficiency.
