We are looking for an exceptional Registered Manager to lead one of our Ofsted-registered children’s homes, playing a vital role in improving outcomes for children and young people across Staffordshire.

About the Service
Children’s Residential Services in Staffordshire provide a range of high-quality, child-centred placements including:
- Long-term placements
- Short-term assessment homes
- Short breaks for children on the edge of care
- Short breaks for children with disabilities
Responsibilities
- Be registered with Ofsted and ensure full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Provide strong, supportive, and effective leadership to deputy managers and residential staff
- Ensure the home’s Statement of Purpose reflects the ethos and goals of the service
- Oversee care planning to ensure support is outcome-focused and regularly reviewed
- Use data, audits and performance tools (Reg 44/45, Ofsted feedback) to drive improvement
- Promote the voice, experiences and feedback of children, young people and families to shape service delivery
- Manage staffing, budgets, health & safety, and safeguarding responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Social Workers, Education, Health, and Police to provide exceptional multi‑agency support
- Ensure high-quality practice through monthly file audits, medication oversight, and restorative approaches
- Support the wider service by participating in on‑call duties, occasional cover at other homes, and working some unsocial hours
About You
- Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a residential setting within the last 5 years (Ofsted requirement)
- Strong experience leading teams, managing performance, and developing staff
- Deep understanding of residential childcare legislation, safeguarding and best practice
- Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire others
- Experience in budget management and resource planning
- Confidence in decision‑making, risk management and working under pressure
- Commitment to equality, restorative practice and continuous professional development
