Position Overview
The Regional Sales Manager oversees all commercial activities within the assigned region for marine-related products and services. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong relationships with shipowners, ship management companies, offshore operators, and distributors, and ensuring Marine Care’s solutions are positioned as the preferred choice in the maritime market.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Sales Strategy & Market Growth
- Develop and implement sales strategies specific to the marine and shipping market.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with shipowners, ship managers, chandlers, and agents.
- Analyze vessel traffic trends, port activity, and fleet movements to guide commercial focus.
- Expand market share for marine chemicals, cleaning solutions, maintenance products, and technical services.
Customer & Key Account Management
- Manage and grow key marine accounts, including fleets, shipyards, offshore platforms, and bunker suppliers.
- Conduct regular vessel visits, office visits, and remote engagements with superintendents, purchasers, and technical managers.
- Provide technical advice on product applications, onboard cleaning procedures, and regulatory compliance (e.g., MARPOL, IMO guidelines).
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by resolving service issues promptly.
Sales Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate the regional sales team to achieve revenue, coverage, and service KPIs.
- Provide coaching, onboard training support, and guidance on marine-specific product knowledge.
- Monitor performance and implement development plans for continuous improvement.
Commercial Negotiations & Deal Management
- Lead contract negotiations with fleets, shipyards, and distributors.
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and quotations in alignment with company commercial policies.
- Manage tender submissions and long-term supply agreements.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track competitor activities, market pricing, vessel repair schedules, dry‑docking cycles, and procurement trends.
- Provide weekly and monthly sales forecasts and market updates to management.
- Ensure accurate CRM data entry and customer activity tracking.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with operations and logistics to ensure smooth delivery of marine products to ports.
- Work with technical teams to provide product demonstrations, onboard trials, and training sessions.
- Support marketing in developing marine-focused campaigns, brochures, and digital content.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Business, Chemical Engineering, Maritime Studies, or similar.
- Minimum 5–8 years of sales experience in the marine, offshore, or industrial B2B sector.
- Strong network among shipowners, ship managers, and marine distributors is a strong advantage.
- Understanding of marine chemical applications, tank cleaning, engine room maintenance, or vessel operations (preferred).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally across ports and shipyards.
