Job summary

A charitable organization in Newport is looking for a Refuge Service Coordinator for a temporary role. You will lead refuge services, managing a team while supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse and trauma. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar setting, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a proactive approach. Qualifications

  • Experience supporting vulnerable people in a housing or refuge setting.
  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment knowledge.
  • Confident team leadership and organisational skills.
  • A DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE OR WITHIN THE LAST MONTH IS ESSENTIAL.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of refuge services.
  • Line managing staff and providing case direction.
  • Overseeing safeguarding, risk management and referrals.
  • Ensure data accuracy, audits and compliance.
  • Support service quality, improvement and reporting.

Temporary - 2-3 Months | Full-Time (35hrs) | Mon-Fri

Covering Newport & Torfaen Refuges

£29,580-£30,090 (FTE)

Moxie People are supporting a respected Welsh charity to recruit an experienced Refuge Service Coordinator.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership role supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and trauma.

The Role

You will oversee day-to-day operations of refuge services, leading a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and person-led support.

  • Line managing staff and providing case direction
  • Overseeing safeguarding, risk management and referrals
  • Attending MARAC and multi-agency meetings
  • Ensuring data accuracy, audits and compliance
  • Supporting service quality, improvement and reporting
  • Helping maintain safe and well-run refuge environments

This role requires travel - driving licence, car and business insurance are essential.
