Qualifications

• 5–6 years of proven experience as an HGV technician or mechanic.
• Knowledge of DAF and Volvo trucks is preferred but not required.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience preparing vehicles for MOT is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and workload planning ability.
• Valid driving licence; HGV licence is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including out-of-hours calls.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise workload and maintenance schedules.

Duties:

• - Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs

• - Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out necessary repairs
• - Maintain detailed service and repair records
• - Support urgent repairs and minimise vehicle downtime

• - Support out-of-hours call outs, including fault diagnosis and repairs
• - Assist with planned maintenance and breakdowns for fleet vehicles including road marking units and trucks between 28 and 44 tonnes

Requirements:

• - Proven experience as an HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic with 5-6 years of relevant industry experience
• - Knowledge of DAF and Volvo commercial vehicles preferred but not essential
• - Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
• - Experience preparing vehicles for MOT is advantageous
• - Organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively
• - Responsible, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
• - Valid driving licence; an HGV licence is advantageous but not mandatory
• - Flexibility to work various shifts, including out-of-hours call outs
