Job summary

ASI Recruitment Ltd seeks an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop in the UK. You will maintain and repair fleet vehicles, carry out road tests, and prepare vehicles for MOT inspections using modern diagnostic equipment.

The role requires Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent, strong problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Salary £42,500–£50,000 DOE with industry training and an established workshop team.

We're working with an established commercial vehicle business that's looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy workshop.

The Role:

• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles
• Carrying out road tests
• Performing emergency road repairs
• Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards
• Diagnoses of vehicles utilising computer based diagnostic equipment
• Carry out scheduled fleet maintenance tasks
• Preparation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
• Carry out re-chassis work and light fabrication

About You:

• Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines.
• Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• High level of technical knowledge and ability in mechanical repair.
• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Previous experience would be required.
• Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering (all modules completed) - Heavy Vehicle Qualification.
• Previous working experience as a HGV technician with a strong technical background, as well as a keen interest in van.
