Job summary

Autotech Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy Bristol operation. You will work on a diverse fleet of specialist vehicles, ensuring uptime and high safety standards within a professional engineering environment.

Qualifications

• HGV qualification or relevant heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs, vehicles and associated plant equipment.
• Conduct vehicle inspections, brake testing and fault diagnosis.
• Identify repair requirements and report findings to management.
• Complete all job records and documentation accurately using workshop management systems.
• Ensure all repair work is completed to high quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of parts usage, inspections and completed work.
• Support vehicle uptime by efficiently managing repairs and defect rectification.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Comply with all company health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• HGV qualification or relevant heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs, commercial vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV Class 2 licence advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
