Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI) in HGV Maintenance & Repair.
• Full UK driving licence (Class 1 advantageous)
• Proficient diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to identify worn or faulty components per DVSA standards.
• MOT licence beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults efficiently, adhering to DVSA standards.
• Complete repairs accurately and within set timeframes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and general workshop duties.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
• Complete service records and warranty paperwork.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and stock control.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Duties of a HGV Technician
