Job summary

Metro Rod Norwich is seeking a full-time Drainage Engineer to join our fast-growing team. The role includes CCTV surveys, patching and lining, drain cleaning and reactive maintenance, with on-call duties and a salary range of £30,000–£50,000 DOE.

You will work with high-profile commercial and domestic clients, operate HPWJ equipment, and contribute to the team with a positive, can-do attitude. A full UK driving licence (25+) is required for insurance purposes, along with a commitment to safety

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial & domestic drainage is essential.
• Experience with CCTV surveys and lining is required.
• CSCS and drainage tickets (HPWJ) preferred.
• Willingness to work on-call and unsociable hours.

Responsibilities

• Carry out drainage cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance for customers.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment in line with safety standards.
• Carry out CCTV surveys and drainage surveys.
• Record work details accurately in internal systems and apps.
• Communicate with commercial and domestic clients to ensure excellent service.
• Be on an on-call rota to cover 24/7 availability.

Full time permanent Salary £30,000 - £50,000 DOE including on call, overtime & benefits

What’s involved?

We are looking for someone who can do CCTV and coding, as well as patching & lining on top of the regular reactive duties:

• Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers’ drains
• Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
• Carrying out surveys
• Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
• Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided
• Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year.

What do we look for?

Suitable candidates will be able to display a great working attitude together with skills pertaining to the clearance, cleaning and repair of both internal small bore and external drainage systems.

• Experience in commercial & domestic Drainage is essential
• Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs, patch lining
• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS
• Have experience with CCTV Surveys and Lining
• Will have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
• Be willing to work occasional / unsociable hours
• Hold a full UK driving licence - must be over 25 for insurance purposes
