Job summary

Metro Rod Bedford, Luton & Watford is seeking a Reactive Drainage Engineer for full-time permanent work across LU, AL, MK areas. The role involves emergency drainage services, cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance with a focus on customer service and technical excellence.

A valid UK driving licence and willingness to work on-call shifts are required. Salary ranges £30,000–£42,000 plus on-call, overtime and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial and domestic drainage is essential.
• Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs and patch lining.
• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS.
• Experience with CCTV surveys is advantageous.
• Positive, flexible and can-do attitude; able to cover on-call rota.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and be over 21 for insurance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out emergency services, cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of customer assets.
• Deliver high standards of customer service and technical expertise.
• Operate according to H&S and Quality procedures.
• Maintain service vehicle and equipment to a high standard.
• Accurately record completed work details in internal and client systems.

What’s involved?

• Carry out a range of services associated with our emergency services offering, cleaning, clearance, repair, installation and maintenance of our customer’s assets new and old
• Deliver a high standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Operate in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures
• Maintain a high standard of company service, vehicles and equipment
• Accurately record completed work details via internal and client systems
• Communicate effectively to ensure an excellent service is provided at all times
• Have a positive and helpful can-do attitude
• Cover normal working hours and “on call” out-of-hours on a rota basis and have a flexible attitude to covering emergency situations when called upon outside of the these periods

What do we look for?

Suitable candidates will be able to display a great working attitude together with skills pertaining to the clearance, cleaning and repair of both internal small bore and external drainage systems.

• Experience in commercial & domestic Drainage is essential
• Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs, patch lining
• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS
• Have experience with CCTV Surveys and Lining an advantage
• Will have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude

• Be willing to work occasional / unsociable hours
• Hold a full UK driving licence – must be over 21 for insurance purposes
