Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Appointment Administrator to manage imaging service bookings and patient registrations. You will enter referrals on the Radiology Information System, justify referrals with clinical staff, and issue booking letters with patient literature and preparation guidance.

You will coordinate inpatient referrals, liaise with wards for patient preparation and transport, and handle general appointment queries while ensuring high data

Responsibilities

• Make appointments following imaging services pathways.
• Register patients on the Radiology Information System or update existing registrations.
• Enter referrals promptly onto the Radiology Information System with waiting list coding.
• Provide rapid justification of referrals with radiographic staff to meet urgent/two-week cancer targets.
• Send booking letters, literature and preparation to patients.
• Arrange inpatient referrals booking and liaise with wards for patient preparation and transport.
• Answer appointment queries professionally and courteously.
• Maintain filing and housekeeping of paper and electronic documentation.
• Offer general advice to patients/staff and re-direct to appropriate department.
• Code all booking stages to enable statistical monitoring and improvements.
• Adhere to Records Management, Information Governance and Data Protection policies.
• Liaise with consultants, wards, secretaries and other departments.
