Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering

💼 Full-Time | Permanent
💰 Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE) + Package

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable civil engineering contractor in Hull who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a QS with a strong background in civils to take on a key role within a well-established business working on infrastructure, groundworks, and civil projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing commercial aspects of civil engineering projects from start to finish
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts, valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Monitoring costs and ensuring budgets are maintained
  • Working closely with site teams to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual terms and industry regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector
  • Strong knowledge of NEC or other relevant contract types
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Proficient in cost reporting, tendering, and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field preferred, but not essential if experienced
