Qualifications

  • Experience in managing commercial and financial aspects of residential groundworks projects.
  • Ability to prepare project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
  • Willingness to attend sites with a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
  • Complete take‑offs and produce accurate tender submissions.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations.
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Track project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Work closely with site teams and clients to resolve commercial matters.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Support monthly commercial and financial reporting.

Skills

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or residential civil engineering
Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Clear communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Education

Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)

Role Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will manage all commercial and financial aspects of residential groundworks projects—from tender through to final account—ensuring profitability, accuracy, and compliance throughout.
