Job summary

Humres is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with CAT A fit-out or specialist interiors experience to join the commercial team. You will be involved across the full commercial lifecycle of projects, including cost control, valuations, variations, and subcontractor procurement.

A strong understanding of JCT/NEC contracts and CVR preparation is essential. Experience with drylining, ceilings, SFS, doors, architectural steel, or raised access flooring is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor within CAT A fit-out or specialist interiors.
• Strong commercial knowledge and understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Proven ability to manage cost control, valuations, variations, and CVRs.
• Experience in subcontractor procurement and account management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full commercial lifecycle on projects.
• Deliver cost control and regular commercial reporting.
• Produce monthly valuations and payment applications.
• Manage variations and subcontractor procurement.
• Prepare and maintain CVRs and review contract documentation.
• Identify and manage commercial risk and support projects to final account.
• Collaborate with operational and project teams.

Job description

We’re working with an established specialist interiors contractor looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience within CAT A fit-out or specialist interior packages, who is looking to join a busy contractor with a strong pipeline of work.

The Role

You’ll be involved across the full commercial lifecycle of projects, including:

• Cost control and commercial reporting
• Monthly valuations and applications for payment
• Managing variations
• Subcontractor procurement and account management
• Preparing and maintaining CVRs
• Reviewing contract documentation
• Managing commercial risk
• Supporting projects through to final account
• Working closely with operational and project teams

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, you’ll have Quantity Surveying experience within CAT A fit-out or specialist interiors, with exposure to packages such as:

• Drylining
• Ceilings
• SFS
• Doors / doorsets
• Architectural steel
• Raised access flooringExperience working for a specialist subcontractor would be particularly relevant, alongside good commercial knowledge and an understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
