Job summary

Ashbrittle, a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The role covers pre-construction through to completion on projects valued between £1m and £5m.

You will oversee commercial management, procurement, valuations and final accounts, manage subcontractors and supply chain, and liaise with clients and consultants to keep projects on time, on budget and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience as Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor background.
• Experience in fit-out, refurbishment or commercial construction.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractors and projects.
• Good understanding of construction programmes.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Commercially driven and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of allocated projects from pre-construction to completion on £1m-£5m schemes.
• Manage budgets, cost reporting, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Procure and manage subcontractors and the supply chain.
• Maintain programmes and monitor project performance.
• Liaise with clients and consultants; attend project and commercial meetings.
• Identify and manage commercial risks; ensure safety and on-time delivery.

We are working with a well-established and successful fit-out and refurbishment contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

The company delivers high-quality commercial, industrial, office, education and specialist refurbishment and fit-out projects across London and the South East.

This is a great opportunity for someone who can combine strong commercial management with hands-on project delivery.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion with project values between 1m - 5 million, including:

• Overall management and delivery of allocated projects
• Commercial management, budgets and cost reporting
• Subcontractor procurement and management
• Valuations, variations and final accounts
• Managing programmes and project performance
• Client and consultant liaison
• Managing subcontractors and supply chain
• Identifying and managing commercial risks
• Attending project and commercial meetings
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget

About You

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or Project Surveyor with a main contractor background.

Ideally, you will have experience within fit-out, refurbishment or commercial construction, together with:

• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
• Experience managing subcontractors and projects
• Good understanding of construction programmes
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• A commercially driven and proactive approach
