Job summary

Davis Mills is seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor for permanent or freelance work on projects in the Northampton area. The successful candidate will handle pre- and post-contract commercial duties on schemes ranging from £1m to £12m, with office-based responsibilities and a strong emphasis on procurement and cost control.

Applicants should have main or sub-contracting background, experience in residential or commercial refurbishments/new builds, and strong communication skills.

Talented Quantity Surveyor required on a permanent or freelance basis

We are using all the avenues we have at our disposal to resource an experienced Quantity Surveyor. We represent a main contractor who offers a first class building service to both the private and public funded sectors. The company enjoys a gilded history with an impressive array of past schemes that form its portfolio of new build, restoration, refurbishments and fit out projects.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will be involved on schemes from £1m - £12m in value, office based will undertake both pre and post contract commercial duties.

Responsibilities will include:

• Sub-contract procurement for all project packages
• Management of subcontract accounts.
• Negotiation of sub-contract terms and conditions.
• Monthly valuations
• Profit planning.
• Identification and valuation of variations.
• Claims notification and generation.
• Detailed monthly cost / value reporting.
• Final Account settlement
