Overview

Are you ready to lead a technical function and shape the future quality standards of a growing business? We’re hiring a Quality Technical Manager to take ownership of the technical agenda, lead a small but capable team, and drive the company’s strategic progression towards BRC accreditation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative environment where you’ll work closely with senior leadership and colleagues across all departments. You’ll enjoy a Monday to Friday, 4.5-day working week and the chance to make a real impact on quality systems, compliance, and product integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the Quality Assurance function, ensuring company QA measures are communicated, implemented, and enforced constructively
  • Preparing, maintaining, and developing the company Quality Management System to ensure compliance with SALSA standards and progression towards BRC accreditation
  • Managing the HACCP system and allergen risk assessments
  • Overseeing and updating the product specification library and ingredient labelling protocols
  • Supporting the NPD team by providing technical input for new product launches, including shelf-life advice and specification requirements
  • Coordinating with suppliers’ technical departments to ensure alignment with company expectations
  • Investigating quality issues with raw materials, packaging, or bulk stock, and implementing pragmatic solutions in line with operational requirements
  • Managing the specification change procedure and labelling system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Developing and overseeing a customer complaints procedure, investigating issues promptly, involving suppliers as needed, and identifying trends
  • Ensuring all traceability protocols are maintained to meet regulatory and customer requirements
Qualifications
  • Degree in Food Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant food manufacturing experience with prior experience as a Technical Manager
  • Strong knowledge of food labelling regulations and best practice
  • Level 3–4 HACCP qualification
  • Level 4 Food Hygiene qualification
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
