Quality Manager

Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE
Sector: Precision Manufacturing

This Quality Manager role is a cracking opportunity to step into a well established UK precision manufacturing environment where quality is taken seriously and not treated as an afterthought. The business produces close tolerance components for demanding industrial sectors and has built its reputation on right first time quality, strong processes, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the quality management system across all manufacturing operations to ensure consistent standards are achieved
• Manage inspection and quality assurance activities for precision engineered components, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements
• Drive non conformance investigations, including root cause analysis and the implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to embed quality into processes, tooling, and workflows
• Develop and maintain quality metrics, reports, and KPIs to support business performance and decision making
• Oversee supplier quality performance, including incoming inspection, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities
• Lead internal audits and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO quality standards and customer expectations
• Coaching, mentoring, and developing quality and inspection team members to promote a proactive quality culture
• Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across both quality and wider manufacturing operations

Qualifications

• Essential
  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of quality management systems, quality tools, and structured problem solving methodologies
  • Experience managing ISO quality standards and leading internal and external audits
  • Hands on leadership style with the confidence to influence, challenge, and support across departments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the business
• Desirable
  • Background in precision engineering, machining, gears, or transmission components
  • Experience working with close tolerance components and advanced inspection techniques
